2009 Grand Tree Final Standings

Total Points | Best 2,3,..6 Races

Last revised November 16, 2009

This year, Northern Nipmuck and Merrimack River both fall on the same day,
as do Groton Forest and the Hairy Gorilla. Most years you can run them all,
this year the Stoneheads can choose.

For the 2009 season, 2100 runners ran at least one Grand Tree race and 75 runners
completed the canonical six or more races. Congratulations to overall champs
Ben Nephew and Amy Lane. Brian Rusiecki trailed Ben by only 0.02%.

Top Stoneheads were Stanislav Trufanov and Michelle Roy.
Thomas Parker ran the most races, 19.

Get more details in Trail Running News. Many thanks to all the race directors
and volunteers for the races that bring us together.

Run as few or as many as you like. For each race, you get points proportional to your pace as a percentage of the winner's pace, with the winner getting 100 points, and, for example, a hypothetical runner at 75% of the winner's pace getting 75 points. Your best six races determine your final standing for the series. In addition, for the "Stonehead" competition, your total points for all races is summed.

For Stone Cat, Pisgah, and Curly's, either distance counts for the Grand Tree. For Bogie's MorFun Wapack, the 21 miler is the Grand Tree race, and for all other dual-distance races, the longer race is the Grand Tree Race.

Race directors: please let us (WMAC Webmaster) know of any changes, links to add, applications to post, etc, for your race listing - Thanks.
