If you're looking for a trail race on the weekend between Monroe Dunbar Brook and Groton Forest check out the Tuff 10K trail Race. http://toughtentrailrace.blogspot.com/ Proceeds from the race will support the youth environmental education programs of the Saugus River Watershed Council.
A limited number of Tech shirts and the October issue of Trail Running Magazine are available for those who pre-register, plus many raffle prizes including, trail running shoes, running caps, water bottles and more.
This challenging 10 kilometer race course is a mix of single and double track trails, dirt fire roads and short sections of paved path. The terrain, which is varied and challenging, will appeal to the seasoned racer and the novice trail runner as well. Runners will encounter rocks and roots, downed trees and possibly mud and water depending on weather conditions. Although there are no major climbs there are many short steep hills to test your fitness. Your reward for climbing the many peaks along the ridge line will be spectacular views of the Boston Skyline and the surrounding areas.
I hope you can make it!
